… This is the first of a series on how and why the Methodist Revival was so offensive to its original context. Moreover, I believe most features of original Methodism continue to be offensive, which is why they have been slowly and intentionally forgotten. Original documents from the earliest days of Methodism reveal a countercultural organization doing spiritual warfare against worldliness in the church.
